ABOUT

The Jr. Rockets basketball program offers girls and boys from the Richmond/Spring Grove area an opportunity to compete with high level teams from all over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Our goal is to provide instruction and competition for the youth in our community while also having fun and growing the game of basketball. Our hope is that kids can build up the skills and lessons they learn at Jr. Rockets and use them as a foundation for strong basketball programs at the High School level! Practices usually start in November and games and tournaments run until early March. Travel is usually limited to an hour or less for games/tournaments and we strive to be as flexible as possible when it comes to family or other commitment.

PHILOSOPHY

The goal of the Jr. Rockets basketball program is not just to develop solid student athletes, but more importantly to develop their character. The program follows the tenets of the ROCKET WAY: Respect, Ownership, Community, Keeping Perspective, Effort, and Together. These principles will hopefully guide the young men and women in our program on their paths to success both on and off the court.

Tryout for Richmond Jr Rockets Youth Basketball

Tryouts will be Sunday September 15, 2024 at Richmond Burton High School. Please bring your own basketball labeled with your name

Girls - 4th thru 8th Grade 8:30am - 10:00am

Boys - 4th thru 8th Grade 9:00am - 10:30am

Fees are $350 for the season which will include a custom uniform

The season will run from November thru early March with approximately 30 games.

Parents - uniform sizing will be done at tryouts, girls will be done at the end of tryouts, boys will be done at the beginning of tryouts. A parent will need to sign off on the uniform sizing.
